February 4, 1945 - February 20, 2019

David L. Mowdy, age 74, longtime resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 20, 2019 at his home.

According to David's requests, there will be no ceremony or viewing. He will be laid to rest privately with his parents at Resthaven Memorial Park in Ponca City. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

David was born on February 4, 1945 to John J Mowdy and Betty J Williams Mowdy in Ponca City, OK. He was raised in the Ponca City area, graduating from Po-Hi in 1963. After high school, David pursued a nursing career, eventually earning a Master's degree. Following college, he joined the U.S. Army as a medic serving three years before being honorably discharged. Upon completion of his military service, David worked at various hospitals and then found a job with the VA hospital in Oklahoma City, retiring from there in the late 1990's. David then returned to Ponca City and enjoyed spending time with his mother until her passing in 2014.

Survivors include his brother Timothy Mowdy and wife Sandra of Greeley, Colorado as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
