Betty Jo Longley, resident of Holdenville, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was 79.

Betty was born the daughter of J.B. Forbes and Elsie E. Jones Forbes on March 19, 1929 in Talladega, Alabama. She lived in Alabama until she was 12 years old and then the family moved to Pawhuska, Oklahoma. On October 1, 1949, Betty married William Franklin Longley in Claremore, Oklahoma and to this union, five children were born. Betty loved going to church and she attended the Love of God Tabernacle Church in Pawhuska for many years. She also loved her poodle named Peaches . Betty enjoyed watching television, but she especially loved watching her soap operas. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Wilene Garroutte and husband, William of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Charlene Kimble and husband, Chuck of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Elsie Gray and Larry Thompson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Patricia Harrison and husband, Robert of Holdenville, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Donnie Longley, Jessica Malaske, John Malaske and Kayla Malaske; and great grandchildren, Victoria Longley, Nathan Longley, Blake Longley, Shallece Brown, Kaytum Malaske, Courtney Rowe, Shallie Woods and Kye Woods.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; son, Jerry Lee Longley; brothers, Alvin Forbes and Clifford Forbes; and sisters, Juanita Harris, Ometa Brown and infant sister Shirley Forbes.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Don Walker officiating. The family will be at Grace Memorial Chapel to receive friends and other family at 12:00 p.m., before the service.
