Marcia was born November 30, 1945, to Virginia Bias Troxel and Robert Troxel in Tulsa. She grew up with her two sisters, Paula Murphy and her oldest sister, the late Janet Joslen. As a child, she moved with her family from Oilton to Duncan, and eventually to Bristow where she would spend most of her childhood. Marcia was baptized at First Baptist Church of Bristow. She was an excellent student, head cheerleader, and was the senior homecoming queen as part of the BHS Class of 1964.

She attended Oklahoma State University as a freshman and was one of the first to major in Special Education. She then transferred to Northeastern State in Tahlequah to be with Robert E Trigalet, whom she married in 1965. Robert was a 1st Lieutenant in the US Marines and they had one son Bryan Andrew Trigalet in 1967. Robert tragically died two years later in a helicopter crash over Vietnam, leaving Marcia a young widowed mother at 24 years of age.

She returned to Stillwater as a single mother and earned her degree. While residing at the Forty North Apartments, she met David Keathly and they began their relationship that would last over 50 years. The two were married at Bennett Chapel on OSU’s campus on July 1, 1972.

They initially resided in Stillwater, before moving to Cushing, and eventually settling in Ponca City, David’s hometown. She began her career as an educator at Drumright in 1974. Marcia would touch countless lives for the next 34 years at Fairfax High School, McCord Elementary, Arkansas City High School, Lutheran Christian School, and Ponca City Mid-High. Throughout her career, she was blessed to make many professional friends who remained in touch with her to her later years.

Marcia and David built a house in 1976 on Kelley Avenue, then a rural route. They had a son, Jonathan Park, born a year later. They raised Bryan and Jonathan in Ponca City and resided in the same home for the rest of her life. Jonathan’s wife, Cindy, became her daughter-in-law in 2002. Anabelle, Lynn and Kannon Park were her beloved grandchildren. Bryan married Marcia’s second daughter-in-law, Nashielly, in 2011.

Marcia loved her family immensely and her favorite activities revolved around them. She loved to travel with David, including their memorable trip to France in 1999, which included dinner at the American Consulate in Paris with then Oklahoma Governor Frank and Mrs. Keating. She would never miss her sons’ or grandchildren’s events, and often cheered the loudest; and she could be found in Stillwater with her family on fall Saturdays supporting her Oklahoma State Cowboys. She and her friend, Beverly Frazier, enjoyed a 40-year friendship of shopping excursions and long conversations. In her later years, she cherished her time with her lifelong friends from Bristow: Jen, Sandy, Donna, Joyce, and Carol. She was a member of Northeast Baptist Church

She is survived by her husband, David, of Ponca City; her sister, Paula and her husband, Dean Murphy, of Bristow; her son, Bryan and his wife, Nashielly, of Houston, Texas, her son, Jonathan and his wife, Cindy and their children, Anabelle and Kannon, of Edmond.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Cook, Tim Edmondson, Park Waller, Ezra Smith, Brian Frazier and Austin Keathly. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dean Murphy, Richard Keathly and Ed Bevin.

In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to give to one of her favorite charities, the Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org/donate, or the Marland Estate Foundation, 901 Monument Rd, Ponca City, OK 74604.
