Jerelean M. Hurd, lifelong resident of Ponca City, passed away Friday morning, January 5th, 2018. She was 90 years of age. Funeral service will be held at the Hartford Avenue Church of Christ with Don Huddleston officiating. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Jerry was born Jerelean Ruth Mowder, October 23, 1927, in Ponca City to William H and Sadie Percifield Mowder. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1945. On July 13, 1947, she married Mark L. Hurd and they made their home in Ponca City. She was a member of the Hartford Avenue Church of Christ.They have one son, Mark Leslie (Les), Jr.

Jerry is survived by her husband of 71 years and their son Les and his wife Lora, a Granddaughter Kathy Lampson and her husband Pat, a Grandson Bob Myatt, a Great Grandaughter, four Great Grandsons and two great Great children, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Marion Mowder and her sister Kathryn Snyder.

She worked as a secretary at Conoco.

There will be no public visitation before the service at the request of the family. Jerelean will be available for viewing and condolence paying at the Church of Christ before her funeral service.
