Alice Dent Hamby, long time resident of Ponca City, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at her home in Ponca City. Alice was born on June 10, 1936 in Ponca City to her parents, Alvin and Alma (Collins) Dent. She grew up and graduated from Ponca City High School. Alice worked as an accountant for Dolese Brothers Concrete Company for 34 years.

Family was everything to Alice. She loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all of their activities. She was always smiling and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Alice is survived by her son, Alan Bliss and wife Cathy of Newkirk, son, Rick Bliss and wife Jan of Ponca City, daughter, Taffy Locke and husband Clifford of Newkirk, Terry Fry, Chuck Barnes and wife, Glynda, Debbie McClaskey and husband Harland, Bambi Correll and husband Bill, Wendy Terrazas and husband Alfonso, Chad Barnes and wife Sabrina, grandchildren, Angela Bliss, Rance Bliss, Cassy Bliss, Jason Bliss, Amanda Bliss, Misty Cook, Amber Gordon, Kelly Marshall, Brandon Horinek, Brandi Maupin, Misti Correll, Jase Locke, and Seth Locke, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and two precious fur babies, Rocko and Minnie.

She was preceded in death by her companion, Eddie Barnes, her parents, and two brothers, Garland and Lester Dent.

A funeral ceremony for Alice will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Following the ceremony, she will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park. Family will be available to greet friends on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 7-8pm.

Casket bearers will be: Jason Bliss, Jase Locke, Seth Locke, Coltan Bliss, Rance Bliss, Brenton Bliss, and Kenton Bliss.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Alice's honor to the Opportunity Center, 2225 N. Union, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
