Donald Ray Farris longtime Kay County resident passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at his home. He was 78 years of age.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Don's son, Bill Farris officiating. Private Interment will be in the Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Donald was born on August 15, 1937 in Poteau, OK to J.D. Farris and Beulah ''Boots'' Lum Farris. Don moved to Tonkawa, Oklahoma with his family and attended the Tonkawa Public schools graduating from Tonkawa High School . He then attended Northern Oklahoma College (NOC) in Tonkawa. On January 18, 1958 he married Glenda June Kelley in Pawnee Oklahoma. To this union were born three sons, David Farris, Mark Farris, and Bill Farris .They made their home in various cities and states before returning to Ponca City in 1994. Glenda preceded in him in death in 1999. He married Lillian Revels in 2000 where they continued to make Ponca City their home. He worked for a time for the Ponca City Police Department. He had owned and operated State Wide Safety and Security Oilfield Services for a number of years. He also had drove over the road trucking for over 30 years retiring in 2004. His interests included fishing, jigsaw and crossword puzzles and reading Louie L'amour Books.He enjoyed worshiping God.

Survivors are: his wife, Lillian of the home, his three sons , David Farris and his wife Tammy Farris of Edmond, Oklahoma; Mark Farris of Ponca City, and William ''Bill'' Farris and his wife, Debi, of Ponca City; 2 sisters, Carolyn Robertson of Crescent, OK and Sammie Coats, of Ponca City; 7 grandchildren , Tia Stratton and husband Tim, Amber Otto and husband Luke, Dirk Farris and wife Kayla, Chelsea Farris, Brittany Crouch and husband Justin, Tina Boren and husband Daniel, Wesley Costello and husband Eric ; 12 great-grandchildren , Ethan Lawrence, Hudson Otto, Madden Otto, Hadley Farris, Michael Dugan, Brent Dugan, Dakota Dugan, Christian Wilson, Gabriel Wilson, Keanu Boren, Ofelia Boren, Evelyn Boren ; 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets, Suzi, Megan and Bubby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Glenda ''June'', one infant daughter, Kelly Sue Farris, Brother-in law Alan Coats, Brother in law Bob Robertson, Son Charlie Brashears, Daughter in law Lori Brashears, Great Grandson Jacob Wilson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Stratton, Luke Otto, Justin Crouch, Eric Costello, Michael Dugan, Brent Dugan, Dakota Dugan, Keanu Boren.
