August 29, 1929 - March 14, 2020

Colleen Agnes “Tibby” Coatney passed away at the age of 90 on March 14, 2020. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born August 29, 1929 in Ponca City, the daughter of Helen (Schatz) and Rellon Shannon.

She graduated from Ponca City High School and attended Stephens College and NOJC where she met her future husband, Kenneth “Red” Coatney. They were married on December 27, 1948. She and Red enjoyed attending bible study with John Young and their lifelong friends the Mertzs, Bradens, and Miles'. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, St. Francis Guild, Mother's club, and enjoyed her various bridge clubs. She was a founding member of Harmony House and served on the board of directors for many years. Her happiest times were spent with her family. She could often be found in the stands or in the audience cheering on her grandchildren.

Red preceded her in death January 2, 2004. Also preceding her in death were her father, Rellon Shannon and her mother, Helen Williams, as well as a sister, Jean Hess Orr. She is survived by her two sons, Chuck Coatney (Patty) of Stillwater and Cal Coatney (Linda) of Ponca City; her two daughters, Terry Muchmore and Karen Taylor of Ponca City, her loving grandchildren, Patrick Muchmore (Jenny Martin), Calie Warren (Justin), Mitch Coatney, Michael Coatney (Lori), Kyle Coatney (Katie), Shannon Muchmore (Jai Tatum), Chris Coatney (Kylie Hoffman), Kari Kelly (Matt), Kelsey Coatney (Gary Lockett), Matthew Coatney, and Brian Taylor, step grandchildren, Marcy Campbell (Kevin), Sherre Shymanski, Scott Norman, Alysia Quaid, and Traci Dewberry.

Tibby is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Coatney Riggs, Calloway Warren, Mason Coatney, Collin Coatney, Kimara Lockett, Kloey Lockett, Kruz Kelly, Lynie Bailey, Ian Bailey, and Ramsey Hardy, soon to be born, Karsyn Kelly and Rhett Coatney, step-great-grandchildren, Josh Campbell, Trey Campbell, Camylle Lee, Jared Johnson, Chazz Shymanski, Joe Norman, Cyndee Primeaux, Sarah Quaid, Bryse Forguson, Destinee Dewberry, Desyre Dewberry, and Deyonce Dewberry, step-great-great-grandchildren, Ava Robinson, Khai Lee and Pax Forguson, and nephew, Karl Lee Hess.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Zak Boazman officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will visit with friends from 6pm-7pm Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Muchmore, Mitch Coatney, Michael Coatney, Kyle Coatney, Christopher Coatney, Matthew Coatney, and Brian Taylor.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of North Central Oklahoma and Precise Home Health.
