Betty Jean Clark, Ponca City resident, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at her home. She was 76.

Betty was born on October 18, 1933 the daughter of Claude Corneilus Brown and Agnes Marie Lingel Brown in Himmel, Missouri. She married Walter Edward Clark on August 4, 1956 in Reno, Nevada. The couple made their first home in Coos Bay, Oregon and later lived in several other states including Jonesboro, Arkansas McHenry, Illinois Phoenix, Arizona and Texas prior to moving to Ponca City in 1979. Betty worked in the hospital industry and as hospital ward clerk at the Ponca City Hospital for several years until her retirement in 1999. Betty loved flowers and working in her yard. She also dearly loved her two dogs, Ginger and Scooter.

She is survived by her two brothers, Thomas Brown and Claude Brown Jr., and her sister Faye Lewis. Her children Gwenda Jenell Chambers of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Albert Allen Walters and wife, Linda of Ponca City, Terry Lee Walters and wife, Susan of Augusta, Georgia grandchildren, Gail, Claude, Misty, Mark Anthony, Ramon Rudolph, Sherma Adia, Terry Jr., Christopher E. and wife Lysa and Elizabeth great grandchildren Shawn, Karisa, Amanda, Clinton, Colton, Harley, Alexander, Destiny, Angeline, Christopher A, Madison, Natalie, Isabella, Jason, Markus and Jasmine and one great great grandson, Mason Jays.

She is preceded in death by her parents husband sisters, Melva and Viola grandson, Alexander Chambers great grandson, Zacharia McDougal nephews, Jackie Lewis and Wesley Lewis and stepbrother, Jackie Harmon.

Honorary casket bearers will be Terry Lee Walters and Albert Allen Walters. The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jack Shamburger, Hospice of North Central Oklahoma officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
