Ruth M. Bennett, longtime resident of Shidler, passed Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in Bartlesville. She was 86 year of age.

Ruth was born December 9, 1927 in Webb City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Columbus C.B. Hutsell and Ora E. Williamson Hutsell. She received her education in the Webb City and Oklahoma City Schools. She was married to Henry Edward Ed Bennett on June 15, 1942 in Webb City. The couple made their first home in Arkansas City, Kansas. They lived in Van Buren, Arkansas from 1943 to 1945 while Ed served in the Air Force. The couple moved to Shidler in 1947 where they were residents for 50 years. She was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church. Ruth’s enjoyments through the years included working crossword puzzles, embroidery and crocheting.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Darlene Fields and beloved son in law, Don Fields, of Ponca City and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband Ed on May 11, 1992 one daughter, Sharon Sue Smith in 2006 and four sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Don Stanton presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
