Bonnie Lea Barton was born May 5, 1932 in Earlton, KS, the daughter of Nellie (Groomes) King. She lived in Ponca City, OK most of her life, and went to be with Jesus on June 9, 2020 in Oklahoma City.

Lea married Roy Lee Barton on February 11, 1950 in Ponca City, OK where they made their home. She worked several jobs including cleaning the Marland Grand Home with her husband, clerk at the Pioneer Woman museum, owned and operated her own beauty shop at her home, cashier at Furr’s Cafeteria, managed the coffee shop at the Ponca City Hospital, and clerk at Stage into her seventies. She was known as a hard worker.

She had many talents and enjoyed doing all of them. Among these were being an artist, seamstress and alterations, decorator, hairdresser, flower arrangements, and cake decorating. Lea also loved doing things for others, whether family, friends or acquaintances.

Lea loved all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. She would do anything for family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy Lee Barton and siblings William “Bill” King, Bobby King, Henry King, June King, Richard King and Margaret King.

Lea is survived by her daughter Brenda Gaskill and husband Ken of Deer Creek, OK, son Randy Barton and wife Laura of Stillwater, OK; grandchildren Kristina Malcolm of Branson, MO, Kari Barton of Corpus Christi, TX, Greg Savage and wife Roxanna of Franklin Park, IL, Beau Stasyszen and wife Tamara of Deer Creek, OK, Jennifer Schrock and husband David of Stillwater, OK and Zachary Barton of Stillwater, OK; great-grandchildren Kyle Fussell and wife Taylor of Enid, OK, Skyler Redding of Corpus Christi, TX, Tristan Fussell of Ponca City, OK, Donavin Redding of Deer Creek, OK, Ryan Grace of Blackwell, OK, Lindsey Malcolm of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Cheyenne Grace of Deer Creek, OK, Kailee Redding of Corpus Christi, TX, Johnathan Stasyszen of Deer Creek, OK, Elizabeth Stasyszen of Deer Creek, OK, Sophia Savage of Chicago, IL, Francisco Savage of Chicago, IL, Madelyn Schrock of Stillwater, OK and Macey Schrock of Stillwater, OK and brothers Dale King of Ponca City, OK and Jackie King and wife Tanya “T.J.” of The Village, OK.

A Graveside Service will be held in Lea’s honor at 10am on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Pastor Jeff McReynolds of the First Christian Church in Lamont presiding.
