Gracie Arnold, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away Wednesday morning, July 21, 2010, at Ponca City Medical Center. She was 79. Gracie was born Aug. 18, 1930, in Jefferson, Okla., the daughter of Porter Bradley and Allie Mae (McKee) Bradley Harris. She was married to Virgil Victor Arnold on July 9, 1946, in Anthony, Kan. The couple made their first home in Pond Creek, Okla., moving to Ponca City in 1962.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Ponca City. Gracie’s enjoyments included faithfully reading her Bible, spending time with her children and grandchildren and listening to country and gospel music.

She is survived by six children, Ed Arnold and wife Linda, Burbank, Okla., Kathy Wise, Blackwell, Okla., Judy Talley and husband Joe, Ponca City, Billy Arnold and wife Tammi, Ponca City, Sue Robb and husband David, Ponca City, and Gary Arnold and wife Sheila, Ponca City; 11 grandchildren, Ami Johnson, Chantae Delaney, Nikki Bagshaw, Tiffany Blunt, Jason Wise, Jack Delaney, Larry Arnold, Nathan Pipkin, Jennifer Arnold, Aaron Pipkin and Wesley Arnold; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil V. Arnold; grandson, Stephen-Nicholas Blake “Bucky” Wise; five sisters, Mildred Light, Betty Reed, Mary Cunningham, Jody Schuermann and Nellie Reed; five brothers, Ralph Bradley, Clifford Bradley, Robert Bradley, Dale Bradley and Steve Bradley.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010, at Northeast Baptist Church with Associate Pastor, the Rev. Randy Ratliff presiding. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Arnold’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Mrs. Arnold’s guestbook may be signed at www.gracememorialchapel .net.
