June 27, 1933 - June 8, 2020

Floyd T. Allen, age 86, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 in Oklahoma City.

Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at the funeral home from 8am-8pm on Thursday, June 18, 2020 and from 8 - 9:30am on Friday, June 19, 2020. A graveside ceremony to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00am Friday, June 19, 2020 at Resthaven Memorial Park where he will be laid to rest next to his "Sweetie" Jeanne Allen. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Floyd was born on June 27, 1933, in Alpine, IN. He was the son of John B. and Pearl A. (Harrison) Allen, both of whom preceded him in death. Floyd had to quit formal schooling to help his family, but he didn't let that slow him down. He always had a love for nice cars and trucks. That love moved Floyd to not only collect classic cars and trucks, but to start his own Rock and Asphalt Hauling business: Allen's Trucks. He worked hard at that business eventually securing state contracts and growing his business. Floyd's "Sweetie" Jeanne helped him with the business, including driving trucks herself if the need arose. The times they worked together were spoken of often and fondly by Floyd.

Survivors include his three children: John R. Allen, Mary M. (Allen) Gabbard, and Michael T. Allen; seven grandchildren, and two sisters. He was also preceded in death by his wife Jeannie M. (McClung) Allen, five brothers and six sisters.
