Floyd Lee Admire, Ponca City resident, died Sunday, July 18, 2004 at Edmond Specialty Hospital. He was 82.

A graveside service will be held at 10am, Friday, July 23, 2004 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Mr. Dan Cornish, Newkirk Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home.

Floyd was born on Feb. 17, 1922 in Newkirk, the son of Charles Elton Admire and Glenna Louise (Ramsey) Admire. He obtained his early education in Newkirk, where he graduated from high school. On June 27th, 1940 Floyd joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served our country. He received an honorable discharge as a Corporal on June 26, 1946. He married Betty Thomas on Oct. 14. 1960. She preceded him in death. Floyd worked for Continental Oil Company for many years as a stenciler for the CNP department. He took early retirement at age 52 and became a professional fishing guide. On May 8, 1992 he married Virginia E. Engelking in Dexter, Kan. They made their home together in Ponca City. Floyd enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. He was a member of the American Legion, Huff-Minor post 14.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Virginia of the home; his children, Diane Ogden of Katy, TX, Charles Admire of San Bernidino, CA, Larry Admire of Edmond, Beth Loving of Larkspur, CO, Connie Peterson of OKC, Becky Dowell of Fairfield Bay, AR, Jay Engelking of Ponca City, Brian Engelking of Plano, TX and David Engelking of Derby; one sister, Lola Harp of Arkansas City, Kan.; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty, one son, Ronnie Thomas, one daughter, Stephanie McDaniel, two brothers and one sister.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 1904 N. Union, Suite 103, Ponca City, OK 74601
