Joan Williams
August 17, 1939 - July 5, 2026

Joan Frances (Sebor) Williams, 86, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away on July 5, 2026, at Bradbury Commons in Ponca City. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM Thursday July 9, 2026 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ponca City with the Rev. Alex Kroll. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The Rosary will be 6 PM Wednesday July 8, 2026 at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel in Ponca City.

Joan was born in Kay County, Ponca City, OK on August 17, 1939, to Arnold and Lillie (Malon) Sebor and was a twin to brother John. She was the second of the twins born. She grew up and graduated from Ponca City High School before dedicating her life to her family as a homemaker. On October 3, 1959, she married the love of her life, Donald Jake Williams, and together they built a loving home and shared 63 years of marriage.

Joan has always been an active staple in the community. She was the leader of the Braden 4-H for over 20 years, she was a Cowbell, and she was the founder of the Westerners and Home Extension clubs. She was the initiator of bringing rural water to their area. Her and Jake were avid Braden School House card party attendees, loved Polka dancing together and always attended the NFR when it was in Oklahoma City.

Joan was very versed in her understanding of the horse world. Her and Jake were part of the horse racing community, and took kids to participate in AQHA shows, but her real love was rodeo.

She kept and recorded times for thousands of runs, saddled horses for kids before they were tall enough, drove many a mile shuttling kids to rodeos, and made shirts that were worn on participants in the National Finals. Her and Jake enjoyed the Calcutta's, and they were good at it. She loved the Ben Johnson Roping at Pawhuska and hosted a big feed under the grandstands every year. On the business side of things, she was a pro at investments and finances. She understood trade, the market, business and what it took to grow.

Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was known for her caring heart, strong faith, and dedication to her family. She enjoyed spending time with those she loved most and was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son, J. Paul Williams and wife Michelle of Burbank, Oklahoma; her daughters, Terri Younger of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and Dr. Kerri Williams of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, sister, Anna Stuever and husband George. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Bodey Williams, TJ Williams, Ginger Wieck and husband Brad, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.

Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jake Williams; her parents, Ernest and Lillie (Malon) Sebor; sister, Celestine and brothers Ernest Sebor and John Sebor.

Joan's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
