Bert Neuenschwander
April 1, 1921 - April 15, 2008

Bert Neuenschwander, resident of Newkirk, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the Ponca City Medical Center in Ponca City. He was 87.

Bert was born on Friday, April 1, 1921 in Knowles, OK to the the late Emil Neuenschwander and the late Viola Goldie Watters. He attended and graduated from Knowles High School. After high school Bert joined the United States Army and served his country in WWII. After the war when Bert returned back to the states he attended Northwestern State College for a short while. Bert married Juanita Arndt on February 24, 1952 in Alva, OK. He worked many jobs with his last working job being a Feed Mill Truck driver for the Farmers Co-op in Newkirk. His hobbies included fishing with his family and friends and cutting wood. He enjoyed watching his family participating in all activities including musical and sporting events.

He is survived by his wife Juanita of the home; three daughters: Bernita Wathor and her husband Mike of Newkirk, OK, Debra Lemmerman of Oklahoma City, OK and Tamara Donaldson and her husband David of Newkirk, OK; two sisters: Daile Sacket and Lucy Arndt both of Alva, OK; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Lydia, Betty Lou, Mary Ann, Ruth, Doris, and Cora Mae; brothers: Jacob, Jonas, Carl, and Emil Jr.; one son-in-law Harry Lemmerman; and one great grandson Zacarias Powell, Jr.

Casketbearers will be Jeremy Ramsey, Zacarias Powell, Steven Donaldson, James Ramsey, Brett Donaldson, Lynn Arndt, Curtis Scott, and Gary Scott

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at the St. Luke's Church of the Nazarene with Pastor David Frees, minister of St. Luke's Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are made under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
