June 9, 1946 - June 3, 2025
Sharon Ann Jones (Girk) was born on June 9, 1946, in Oklahoma City, the second daughter of Bernard Blain Girk and Wilma Girk (Martin). She passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A funeral service celebrating her life will take place on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
Sharon grew up in a ranch house outside Forgan, Oklahoma, and graduated from high school in Beaver, Oklahoma, where she was honored as Homecoming Queen in 1962.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Sharon dedicated her life to caring for her family and others. She spent many years as an educator in the Ponca City Public Schools, where she also served as principal of Liberty Elementary School before retiring in 2011. Her dedication to teaching left a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues.
Sharon found immense joy in being a grandmother, cherishing every moment with her four grandchildren. She was the heart and soul of her family, always offering love, support, and wisdom.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lindsay John Jones, and her daughter, Allison Lindsay Jones.
Sharon is survived by her son, Todd Jones, and his family of Dallas, TX, along with many dear friends and extended family members who will forever treasure her memory.
