E. Helen Ivie
August 4, 1930 - March 23, 2008

E. Helen Ivie, longtime Ponca City resident, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2008 at the Ponca City Medical Center. She was 77. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Seabaugh, minister of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are made under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Helen was born on Monday, August 4, 1930 in Ponca City, OK to the late Walter Scott Fowler, II and the late Nina Lucille Hayden. She attended and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1948. Helen married George Ivie on September 19, 1948 at the Ranch Drive Baptist Church in Ponca City. She went back to school after her kids entered into school and obtained a Bachelor's degree in music. Helen taught for many years at McCord School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Helen enjoyed music whether it was playing the piano or violin, or singing in choirs and Ensembles. She also enjoyed traveling, oil painting, cross-stitching, quilting, knitting, but most of all she loved to be with her family.

She is survived by her husband George of the home; three brothers: Walter Scott Fowler, Charles Fowler, and Robert (Bob) Fowler; three children: Michael Ivie, Stephen Ivie and Cindy, and Dianne St. John and Danny; seven grandchildren: Rick Ivie and Talia, Brandi Ivie, William Ivie, Robert Ivie, and Esther, Danielle St. John, Matthew St. John, and Mark St. John; and two great grandchildren: Jackson Ivie and Kylie Ivie.

She is preceded in death by parents.

Casketbearers will be her grandsons: Rick Ivie, William Ivie, Robert Ivie, Matthew St. John, and Mark St. John.
