Delores Cochran
September 29, 1935 - March 24, 2025

Delores M. Cochran, age 89, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025 at Integris Health in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Born on September 29, 1935 in Ponca City, Delores' life was a vibrant tapestry of love for family, God and friends. Delores was the beloved matriarch of her family, and community caretaker, a role she cherished and embodied with grace.

She was preceded in death by her previous husband James R. Bates, her son James Vance Bates, her brother Mervyn Hoskins Jr. and sister Karen Hoskins, along with her parents.

Her spirit is carried on by her loving husband Gary Cochran, her grandchildren Jarrett Vance Bates, James Jackson Bates, and Corrie Marie Hyde.

Delores' life was marked by her servant spirit that was admired by all who knew her. She found joy in cooking for others, taking care of anyone sick or in need, and being with her son, husband and grandchildren. She loved her church, and her pastor David Frees and his wife Deborah Frees were her best friends and like family along with her church. Home was her sanctuary and she and Gary made it a beautiful place to have people come over, enjoy their company, and appreciate the tranquility of God's creation. She was a faithful member of St. Luke's Church of the Nazarene. Delores' life was a testament to the glory that can be found in God, living the walk with God, and never wavering in her commitment to service for him. Her smile was contagious, along with her wonderful laugh and sharp humor. Her spirit and presence will be sorely missed by her family, her church and the entire community.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29, 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Church of the Nazarene in Ponca City with Pastor David Frees officiating. Burial will follow afterwards at Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at St. Luke's Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
