John Lamont (Ga' hi Mon'thi) Williams Jr., age 53, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 4, 2019.

He was born on July 24, 1966 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to John Lamont (Johnny) Williams Sr. and Sally (Bailey) Williams. Growing up in Ponca City, John graduated from Ponca High School in 1985 and attended Haskell Indian Nations University. Throughout his lifetime, he was employed using his vast technical and handyman talents. Always quick to help whenever anyone asked, John could fix anything. He was an avid OU football fan.

John was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents John M. Williams and Matilda (Hairyback) Williams and maternal grandparents Marchie Bailey and Irene (Walker) Bailey.

He is survived by his mother; brother Jace Williams of Ponca City; daughter Tony Williams of Wichita, Kansas and son John Lamont Williams III of Austin, Texas; and grandchildren Aaron, Aaliyah, and Aiden Gilkison; nephews and niece Jadon, Jarael, Jerrod and Johnese Williams of Blackfoot, Idaho, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and very special best friend Girl.

Reverend Brandon Kemble will officiate funeral services on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Ponca Indian Baptist Church. John will be laid to rest at Ponca Indian Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. In keeping with John's generous spirit, his final act was the donation of his organs .
