Amelia Smith Warrior resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was 63.

Amelia was born the daughter of Leon Biggoose and Lenora Smith in Pawnee, Oklahoma on February 17, 1945. She grew up in Ponca City and went to the Ponca Indian Methodist Church as a young girl. Amelia attended and graduated from Ft. Sill Indian School in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was later united in marriage to Eli Warrior in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 1, 1968. The couple made their home in Oklahoma City. They had two children during their 40 year marriage. Amelia was employed for 25 years at ATT, formerly Western Electrical as an assembly line worker. Her enjoyments included going to Pow-Wows and traveling throughout the United States.

She is survived by her loving husband; daughter, Crystal Rios of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; son, Leon Warrior of Dallas Texas; aunt, Thelma Perez; grandchildren, Breanna Herrera, Lexi Ramirez and numerous other grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Adeline Smith. Casket bearers for the service will be Daniel Sharron, Thomas Roy, Paris Roy, Otis Wayne Warrior, Lorenzo Enriquez and Arnulfo Serrato.

A traditional noon meal will be held before the funeral service at the church. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2008 at the Ponca Indian Methodist Church with Reverend Jimmy White officiating. Burial will follow at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery in White Eagle, Oklahoma under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
