July 4, 1954 - July 19, 2015

Galedia Roxanne (Grass) ThickNail, born July 4, 1954 at Pawnee Indian Hospital, Pawnee Oklahoma, daughter of Charlie Grass, full blood Cherokee Katoowah Band (Traditional Cherokee) and Martha (Williams) Grass, Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma. She died on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at her home.

Galedia, bore three beautiful children which she adored, Mathesha Noelle (Grass) House, Jocelyn Kim (ThickNail) Jackson, and Shaloo Nolan ThickNail. Brothers and sisters, Novaline (T) Shipp, Priscella (Williams) Cameron, Cynthia (Grass) Vetter, Mary (Grass) Sherman, Goldie J. (Grass) Tucker, Sequoya Dale Grass, Thomasine J. (Grass) Blueback, Morgan Thomas Grass, Angel (Grass) Thompson, Kimberlie L. Grass, and ten grandchildren, (8 grandsons, 2 granddaughters) Joseph ThickNail has been a part of her life, from March 15, 1974 to July 19, 2015. He was greatly appreciated by her and all three children, ten grandchildren and her brothers and sisters.

Galedia graduated from Seneca Indian School, Wyndotte, OK, Chilocco Indian School, Chilocco, OK, Oklahoma State Tech School, Okmulgee, OK for Offset Printing, and Western State College, Bellingham, WA for bookkeeping. She worked as an apprentice and journeyman interior and exterior, was a housepainter, owned and operated ThickNail House Painting and worked for Troy Milles Rentals. She worked for the elderly as a caregiver until the day of September 16, 2011.

She was involved in Scalp Dance, Womens Auxiliary Post 38, Ponca Nation Church, and Ponca Nazarene Church.

Pall Bearers are Dustin M. Nichols, Tyreek D.J. Jackson, Keynnan L. Jackson, Robert “Lane Lane” Kendricks, Jaylynn “Hamy” Harris, and Joseph Howe.

Services will be at her home located in Bressie at the Williams residence, her mother Martha Grass's Homestead.

Services will be held each night at 7:30 pm. Traditional feast will be held at noon, Wednesday, July 22, 2015.
