Richard Lee No Ear Stigall, Ponca City resident, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the Ponca City Medical Center. He was 57.

Richard was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma on September 12, 1952 to Leland Stigall and Roselyn Mae No Ear. He was the descendant of Chief No Ear of the Ponca Nation. He attended Chilocco Indian School. Richard was a simple man who enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He liked to cook and was employed as a chef throughout his career. He attended the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church. Richard met his companion, Sally Oh in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 2006. The couple made their home in Livingston, Wyoming until they recently moved back to Ponca City to be near relatives.

He is survived by his companion, Sally of the home uncles, Henry Lieb, Curtis Lieb, Albert Joe Lieb, Andrew Lieb and Craig Lieb aunt, Rose Marie Cuellar as well as other relatives too numerous to mention.

He is preceded in death by his parents grandfather, Alfred No Ear, full brother to Roselyn and Josephine No Ear grandmother, Marion Crazy Bear uncles, Wilford No Ear and Robert Lee No Ear uncle, Gilbert Cole Jr. as well as other No Ear decedents.

Casket bearers for the service will be Mike Page, Tolbert Cole, Gilbert Cole, Andrew Lieb, Fred Adams and Franklin No Ear.

Honorary bearers will be the No Ear decedents.

The traditional noon meal will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Ponca Tribal Cultural Center with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
