Alberta Roy, 85 beloved Mother, and Grandmother, went to her eternal resting place on April 6, 2020.

Alberta entered this world on January 26, 1935, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe Roy Sr., and Zoie Primeaux Roy. She is also preceded in death by her first husband Paul Kauley and her second husband Ben Salazar. Alberta’s daughters Victoria Primeaux and Laura McCarthy, and sons Raymond Criswell and Robert Monroe preceded her in death. Alberta is also preceded in death by her siblings, Lily Roy Hopper, Joseph Roy Jr., and Marilyn Roy York.

Alberta is survived by her children, Paul Kauley of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Zoie Stumbling Bear of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, Jerry Dunson of Precigne’ France, Karla Heritage of Jourdanton, Texas, Rowena Black of El Reno, Oklahoma and Samuel Goombi, of Anadarko, Oklahoma. Alberta is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Her Granddaughter, Trena Primeaux was very close to her and cared for her in her home until her last breath.

Alberta loved her Ponca culture; she especially loved the Annual Ponca Pow Wow. Alberta loved her Lord and attended the Ponca Indian Methodist and Ponca Indian Baptist churches. She loved to hear the Ponca Tribal hymns.

A graveside service will be held at the Ponca Tribal Indian Cemetery at 2:00 pm, Reverend Jim White will officiate.
