Today our hearts are filled with grief, our beloved Nellie King has gone to heaven. She was 66 years old.

Traditional tribal services will begin with a Saturday night wake at the Ponca Tribal Community Center of White Eagle, OK. On Monday, July 8, 2019, a noon feast will be followed by a give-away and funeral service also at the community center. Burial will follow immediately after at the Ponca Indian Cemetery. Casket bearers for the service will include Chris Sosa, Jose Sosa, Victor Sosa, James Page, Michael Page, Paul Roughface, Jr., and Michael Page, Jr.

She was born on April 2, 1953 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Funston Browning King and Jennie B. Kemble King. She attended Marland Schools. She worked as a nurse in her younger years. She enjoyed watching tv, especially westerns, walking to the library to read the paper, attending church functions, eating at church, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Chester Haynes, Douglass King, Francis King, and Fred King, and sisters: Pauline Ward and Cora Mitchell.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son James Morris Page of Ponca City, son Michael page and his wife Darcie of Tonkawa, daughter Anisa Page of Oklahoma City, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Sister Elizabeth Loera of Ponca City, sister Laura Colbert of Iowa, and brother Robert LeClair, a host of nieces and nephews as well as large extended family.
