KEMBLE Alan R. Kemble, former Ponca City resident, died unexpectedly Monday morning, October 15, 2001 in Oklahoma City. He was 23 years of age.

The traditional funeral feast will be held at 12 noon on Friday, October 19, 2001, followed by the funeral at 2 p.m. The Revs Thomas Roughface, Bethany, OK and Lynn Eaves, Pastor of Ponca Indian United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery under direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Alan Ray Kemble was born in Pawnee on May 31, 1978, he was the son of Lorenzo Beard and Pam Buffalohead Kemble and Newton Kemble, respectively. When Alan was 2 years of age, his family moved to Moore and he grew up attending schools in Moore. In 1996, Alan and Laura Baker were united to gether in the Indian Way and were given the lives of two loving children. Alan was employed with Big "D" Industries as a chemical specialists, manufacturing cleaning products. Alan was full of life and it showed in his extracurricular activities such as basketball, baseball/softball. He enjoyed listening to his music and being with his family and friends.

Survivors include his mother, Pam Kemble and father, Lorenzo Beard, both of the home in Moore, his companion, Laura Baker, his son, Iziak Kemble and his daughter, Aysia Kemble, all of the home in Moore, one sister, Amanda Beard of Stillwater, three brothers, Newton Kemble, Lorenzo Beard and Steve Beard, all of the home in Moore, his grandparents, Rita Mae Kemble, Steve Buffalohead, Sr. and Marie Buffalohead of Omaha, Nebraska, many aunts and uncles as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Alan was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Edmond Kemble and Gilbert Beard and grandma, Mable Leading Fox Beard.

Casketbearers will be: Keith Neal, Corbett Jones, Mark Jones, Alonzo Riuz, Michael Beuchaw, Joey Puente, Jeff Carroll and Israel Chavez. Honorary Casketbearers will be: Randy Kemble, Jim Newton, Gilbert Beard, Brian Scott, Robert Anquoe, Barry Brown and Johnson Taylor.
