Teresa Ann Pantel-Harvey, former resident of the Ponca City community, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Lawton Indian Hospital. She was 54.

Teresa was born October 22, 1955 at Pawnee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Frank Pantel and Elizabeth Brave Pantel and was raised by her grandparents, Albert and Edith Waters. Teresa grew up in the Bo-Dock community and attended the Ponca City Schools and Chilocco Indian School. She was a member of the Ponca Native American Church and the Indian Methodist Church of Tulsa. Teresas enjoyments were her family and her many, many friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Thicknail of Lawton and Charis Pantel, of Tulsa; one son, Greg Carpenter of Tulsa; her father, Frank Pantel of Corpus Christi, Texas; 8 grandchildren and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Brave; her maternal grandparents, Albert and Edith Gives Water; two brothers, Albert Roy and Robert Roy Jr.

Prayer services will be held Friday evening at the Ponca Indian Methodist Church with a noon meal will be served on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Church with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Oliver Littlecook and Bro. Jimmy White will preside over the service. Burial will be in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
