Sheree Louise Counselor, resident of Ponca City, passed away Christmas Day, 2014 at the Ponca City Medical Center. She was 57 years of age.

Sheree was born January 30, 1957 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Donald Edwin Wedell and Evangeline Littledance Wedell. She was a graduate of Augusta, Kansas High School and attended culinary school and votech school. She formerly was employed as manager and cook at J.W. Cobbs. She was a member of the Ponca Indian Nazarene Church. Her enjoyments were raising her young son Jerald, reading, casino trips, cooking and spending time with family.

She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Rose Counselor of Enid one son, Jerald Don Counselor, of the home two brothers, Bobby Monroe and Steve Bear, both of Ponca City one sister, Julie Bear of California her fiance Mike Galvan of Ponca City nephews she raised like sons, Antonio Lonnie Primeaux, Christian George Primeaux, Michael Lee Snake and Andrew Snake several cousins and other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by the parents that raised her, Donald and Evangeline Wedell her biological parents Julia Bear and Keith Howe one brother, Gerald Otto Wedell.

A noon meal will be served on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Ponca Tribal Cultural Center. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Louis V. Headman, pastor of the Ponca Indian Nazarene Church, presiding. Burial will follow in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
