It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thunder Brey Weasel Bear of Ponca City, Oklahoma. He was only 21 years old. Traditional tribal services will be held at the Ponca Tribal Cultural Center in White Eagle. The services will start with taking him to White Eagle leaving the funeral home at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thursday night an all-night wake will be held in his remembrance. Friday will conclude with a noon feast, give away, and funeral service followed by burial at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery. The family asks that you please wear red, black or purple to the funeral. The purple is for epilepsy awareness due to that being the cause of his death. Casket bearers will include Steven Brown, Joe Denny, Thunder Lieb, Hugo Rodas, Max Escudero, Israel Little Coyote, Tennyson Rhodd, and Ellsworth Eagle. Honorary bearers are Allen Red Hat, Donny Kendrick, Lane Kendrick, Cato Red Hat, Doug Rhodd III, Cheston Cole, TC Cole, and Thomas Kent.

Thunder was born on July 15, 1997 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Gina Cole Sfragidas. He enjoyed playing video games, spending time with his family especially his niece and nephews, and drawing. He was a kind, loving, goofy man who loved making people laugh. He was known for his teddy bear hugs.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Colbert Cole.
