George Alan Collins
December 1, 1967 - January 6, 2024

George Alan Collins was born on December 1, 1967, in Pawnee, Ok to Sharon Verona (Roni) Jones and Deforrest Jones.

George is a descendant of Chief Big Elk and a member of the Giveswater Service Club. Growing up he was a member of the Ponca Drum Makers and singer in the Collins family. He attended the Ponca City Public Schools. After finishing school, he learned roofing from his stepfather Deforrest Jones. He took this skill trade and made it his career. George enjoyed family and his Ponca people, he loved to attend family gatherings, dances, and powwows.

During his free time, he enjoyed listening to Indian music of his uncles, grandpas, and cousins. He liked to go fishing, hunting, casinos and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Ana, Lily, Manny, Isabell, baby Vic, Noel, his name sake little George, Sunshine, Tommy, Chuy, Miguel, and Tatiana.

George is survived by his siblings: Victoria Collins and husband Rudy Brown of OKC, Jennifer Jones and husband Hector Reyes of Ponca City, Sherry Jones of Ponca City, and Roy Eugene Smith of OKC, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by parents, Roni and Deforrest, sister Jackie Rodriguez, stepsisters: Theresa Jones, Irene Jones, Deedee Jones, and Eddie Jones, also Melvin Collins III, Wesley Collins, SR. and Matthew Collins. George made friends everywhere he went. He was loving and caring and that's how we will always remember him.

Casket bearers will be: Gonzalo Marinez, Gabriel Martinez, Daniel Nino, Manuel Martinez, Emelio Garcia, Tommy Huerta, and Patrick Reyes. Honorary Casket bearers will be: Robert Collins, Bruce Collins, Mark Collins, Samuel Nino, Rudoph Brown, Jose Huerta, Arthur Cerre, and Alvin Collins.

The traditional feast at noon, with funeral services fallowing at 2:00 pm. George will be taken to his final resting place following the service at the Ponce Tribal Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
