Ronald Wayne Wilson

Ronald Wayne Wilson, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away Friday, September 5, 2008 in New Port Richey, Florida. He was 71.

Ronald was born September 15, 1936 in Ponca City, the son of Coyd James Wilson and Lamona (House) Wilson. Ronald attended Roosevelt School prior to his graduation from Ponca City High School in 1955. He was married to Wanda Lee Goldman on February 18, 1956 in Ponca City. Wanda preceded in him death on July 17, 1993. He was married to Connie Bradshaw on September 28, 1996 at Camdenton, Missouri. Ronald was employed with Conoco for 38 years, retiring as a Power Division Supervisor on June 1, 1993.

Ronald was an avid outdoorsman and was a noted trap shooter. He had won events at the World Trap Shooting contests and had been a member of the Oklahoma State trap shooting team for 19 years. He was a member of the Oklahoma Trap Shooting Hall of Fame, the National Trap Shooting Association, the Oklahoma Trap Shooting Association and the N.R.A. He also enjoyed quail, pheasant and deer hunting. He also enjoyed the company of his pet cat “Kaiko”.

He is survived by his wife, Connie, of the home; two children, Ronald Mark Wilson, Ponca City and Marjie Denise Bagley and husband, Mark, of Alva, Oklahoma; one brother, Roy Wilson and wife, Jane, of Ponca City; two grandchildren, Ronald James (Jamie) Wilson and Jana May Bagley. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Wanda.

The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Grace Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2008 at the First Assembly of God Church, 1308 East Bradley with Rev. David Reddick and Rev. Mark Bagley presiding. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel

Casket bearers will Doug McCleary, Shane McCleary, David Blum, Jamie Wilson, Robert Rimer and Mel Gaddis. Honorary casket bearers will be Victor Crook, Eddie Schneider, Fred Haub and Larry Tarpenning.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Hernando-Pasco Hospice Center, 6801 Rowan Road, New Port Richey, Florida 34653.
