Betty Rose Secrest Compton Vandaveer, 77, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister and friend, of Blackwell, passed away peacefully Monday, April 16, 2012 at OSU Medical Center of Tulsa.

Betty Rose was born on March 28, 1935 IN Wichita, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Margie Secrest Bryant. Betty Rose grew up in the Wichita area attending and graduating from the Wichita schools. Betty Rose was a retired surgical scrub nurse and was married to Jake Vandaveer for over 30 years. They had lived in Blackwell, OK for 18 years moving from Olathe, KS.

Betty Rose is survived by her husband, Jake Daughters Susan Keller and husband Jerry of Tulsa, Deborah Fox Huseby and husband Brian of Fairfax, OK Cathy Mumford and husband Jose of Tampa, FL Becky Collins and husband Cecil of Osage, OK. StepChildren Jay Franks of Wichita, KS Crystal Warden and husband James of Choctaw, OK Frank Vandaveer and wife Kricket of Osage, OK and Tammy Carlson of Parkville, MO. Grandchildren Brandi Keller, Heather Fox, A.C. Collins and Sheena Collins of Tulsa, OK. Amy Lester, Joseph Mumford and Sarah Garcia of Drumright, OK. Jessica Hilton and Chance Warden of Choctaw, OK Dalton Carlson of Parkville, MO Frank Jr., Kaitlynn and Alora Vandaveer of Osage, OK Daniel and Amanda Franks of Wichita, KS. Several GreatGrandchildren, brothers, sisters and extended family.

Graveside Funeral Services will 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 19, 2012 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Ponca City with Rev. Dennis Wildman officiating.
