Sunnie Sue Sober, longtime Ponca City resident passed away Saturday morning with her family by her side. She was 72 years old. She was born December 7, 1943 in Pawnee, to Roy Albert and Rosa Lee Glasby Allen.

Sue grew up in Ponca City, but also lived in the Ralston and Fairfax areas. She met Garry Sober, the love of her life, and they were married in Pawnee on March 11, 1959. They made their home in Ponca City. Sue was an entrepreneur, developing several businesses in Ponca City during her lifetime. Her latest ventures were Sue's Used Furniture, and Starlight Fashions. In her younger years she worked as a waitress at Rusty Barrel and Jean's Restaurant in Ponca City and drove a truck hauling asphalt for Evans and Throop to name a few. But her most fulfilling was working side by side with her husband of SOS Construction.

Sue was a member of the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church where she was always willing to help anyone. She was an incredible cook and made sure no one ever left hungry. Sue was from a large family and enjoyed a close relationship with her siblings as well as her children and grandchildren. Her favorite times were holidays when she could celebrate with family. She enjoyed taking long rides to see the countryside and she never went on vacation without all the family, so they could enjoy their time together. She spent the last years of her life enjoying football and basketball becoming a Thunder fan.

Survivors include her husband Garry of the home; two sons, Rick Sober and Roger Sober and wife Kelly; one daughter, Regina Lawson and husband Troy, all of Ponca City. She leaves seven grandchildren, Marcy Sober, Breia Willaford, Tara Sober-Strawn, Mathew and Morgan Sober, Kaitlyn and Kyllie Lawson. Also six great- grandchildren, Blaine Meyers, Tanner and Trevor Goodenough, Haylee, Madison, and Ella Willaford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Ricky Sober Jr, two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Grace Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jack Adams of New Hope Christian Fellowship officiating. Interment will follow in the I.O.O. F. Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Ivers, Troy Lawson, J.D. Nash, Kenneth Wayne Sober, Mathew Sober and William ''Bill'' Willaford.
