Graveside Services for Dana Louise Sharp, 98, Ponca City resident, will be held 2:00 pm, May 6, 2021 in the IOOF Cemetery, Ponca City, OK, with Chaplain Gary Wilburn officiating. Under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Dana was born on an oil lease in rural Rogers County on May 15, 1922. She was the youngest sibling of Mr. and Mrs John Jeffery. Her father died when she was 6 years old. At the age of 10, she moved with her family to Lowry City, MO. She graduated from High School in Lowry City in 1939. She and her family moved back to Oklahoma in 1939 and in 1941 Dana and her Mother came to Ponca City. It was here that she met Bill Sharp and they were married in The First Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church in 1950. They raised their only son, Jeff, on a farm east of Kildare where they lived for 40 years. They raised thoroughbred horses and Charlois Cattle.

Dana worked for 48 years for numerous Primary Care Physicians. The last 26 were with Dr. C.W. & Gene Arrendell, starting at the old Neeman Northcutt Clinic, and then with Dr. Paul Davis.

She confirmed her faith at the age of 13 and was baptized in the Osage River in 1936 near Lowry City, MO. She was a member of the Woodlands Christian Church, past member of Kay County Farm Bureau Women’s Club, FFA Mothers Club, and the Oklahoma Medical Assistant Organization. In 2008, Dana was blessed with a wonderful great-granddaughter truly a gift from Heaven.

She is survived by her son, Jeff and his wife Debb, 2 grandsons, Jerrod and John, and the great-granddaughter, Tatianna. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her parents, one sister, 2 brothers, and 2 nephews.
