Kevin Michael Petre, age 42, a former resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away suddenly after a brief illness on September 23, 2010, in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Kevin was born on May 14, 1968, in Lawrence, Kansas, and spent his early childhood and youth in Las Cruces, New Mexico, as well as in Albuquerque. He graduated from Eldorado High School in 1988 where he was active in youth soccer. He attended Oklahoma State University and graduated from Northern Oklahoma College in 1994. He was a licensed plumber and was employed by Niemann Fencing Company at the time of his death.

Surviving him are his children Brittany Petre, Stillwater, Oklahoma and Michael Petre, Ponca City his grandfather, Ken Doc Wright, Via Christi Village, Ponca City his parents, Alfred L. and Judith Wright Clemmons, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Richard Petre and wife Nancy Perry, Santa Fe, New Mexico his brother, Greg Petre, Albuquerque, New Mexico a stepbrother, Tim Petre, also of Albuquerque. Additional survivors include his uncle, Phil Wright and family, Wichita, Kansas and Huntington, New York his GreatAunt Claribel Deda and family, Pratt, Kansas and special friends Neil and Lori Morrison, and Elena Hayes who were always there for him. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Zenna Waggoner Wright a brother, Jeffrey Dean Hester and his beloved dog and best pal, Sandy.

The family wishes to thank Don Niemann, Marilyn Jackson and the late Bernie Jackson as well as Tonya Jackson for the unwavering love and support that they gave Kev over the years. So, in Kevs memory, hug a friend, forgive an enemy, help a stranger, and live in peace. God bless you son, you will live in our hearts forever. We love you and miss you.

A graveside memorial service for Kevs family and close friends will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Ponca City I.O.O.F Cemetery.
