Winifred Naomi McCluskey, was born in Ponca City, on Oct. 2, 1916, the daughter of Fred and Emma Ealick and she passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016. She was 99 years old, 26 days short of her 100th birthday. She attended school in Ponca City and upon graduation, took a job working for Conoco, where she remained for 20 years.

After marrying her husband, Gaylon McCluskey on June 6, 1959, Winnie moved to San Diego and began working for Solar. In 1979 they both retired and built their retirement home in Valley Center, Calif. Here, she was an avid gardener, member of the Dos Valles Garden Club, Valley Center Square Dance Club and an active member of the Seniors of Valley Center. She became the tour director for the Seniors, planning many fun and adventurous trips for her "Itchy Foot Tribe" as they were known. She was also an accomplished ceramics painter, painting beautiful lamps and plates.

She attended Emmanuel Faith Community Church in Escondido, Calif. Following Gaylon's death in 1999, she moved into Casa De Las Campanas Retirement home. Here she made many friends and was known as the "Brownie Lady" because she was always baking her famous brownies for all of the workers.

She is survived by her cousin, Donna Buller; sister-in-law, Andrea McCluskey; nieces, Gayla McCluskey and DruAnn McCluskey; great-nephew, Dugan Farrell and great-niece, Delaney Farrell.

A service and burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Hope Chapel, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Ponca City under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel, with a remembrance service at Emmanuel Faith Community Church in Escondido.
