The funeral for Hugh Martin, 75, of Ponca City, will be 2 p.m. today, Oct. 28, 2009, at First Assembly of God Church. Micah Wells, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Tonkawa I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Arrangements are by Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.

He was born June 29, 1934, in Sasakwa and died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at his home after battling cancer.

He graduated from Black-well Public Schools in 1952 and from Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa in 1955.

He married Ann Schatz March 24, 1955, in Tonkawa.

He worked at Champlin Oil Refinery; Gary Oil Re-finery, in Grand Junction, Colo.; and Conoco Oil Refin-ery, in Commerce City, Colo. He retired in 1996 in Ponca City.

Surviving are his wife, Ann; two sons, Hugh Martin of Aurora, Colo., and Thomas Martin of Bennett, Colo.; one daughter, Julie Franke of Norman; two brothers, Joel Martin of Los Ojos, N.M., and Charles Martin of Black-well; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother.
