Georgia Jean Mackey went to be with her family and friends in Heaven on January 30, 2017.

She was born in Ponca City to George and Mabel Lawson on March 25, 1931. Georgia lived in Ponca City for most of her life. After graduating from Ponca City High School, she married Gilbert A. (Gib) Mackey in 1949 and they had a long, happy marriage. They raised two boys, Christopher and Gilbert. When the boys were in high school, Georgia decided to become an Avon Lady and she enjoyed selling the products to women in their homes.

Georgia's next career was selling jewelry in Miss Sidles' Indian Shop. She was very knowledgeable about Indian jewelry and crafts. Georgia stayed with the shop when it became part of Radio Shack. She loved collecting antiques, especially jewelry and glassware.

Georgia is survived by her brother, Dean Lawson and wife Doris (Spiffy) of Ponca City, children, Gilbert Lee Mackey and wife Kathie of Los Alamos, NM, granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Guthrie and husband Paul of Newkirk, OK, and two great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert A. Mackey and son Christopher Mackey.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at Community Christian Church in Ponca City with Rev. Marilyn L. Merle presiding. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Pall Bearers will be Paul Guthrie, Logan Davis, Tony Smith, Ted Swang, Zakary Sharpe, and Gene Swang. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Al Swang, Jerry Hausman and Clyde Stumpff.

Memorial donations may be made in Georgia's honor to your favorite animal rescue agency.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.
