Ella Marie (Lindsey) McSmith
August 25, 1946 - December 5, 2023

Ella McSmith, better known as "Granny" to some and "Aunt Ella" to others, passed away in the early morning hours of December 5th, 2023 in Wichita, KS after a battle with Metastatic Bone Cancer. Ella was born in Ponca City, OK on the 25th day of August in 1946 to Paul Ivan Lindsey and Josephine Alice Lindsey. Ella was the pillar of her family, and her loss will be felt not only by her family, but by the many lives she touched during her time on this Earth.

Ella is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles McSmith. Son, Francis McSmith and wife Bliss McSmith. Daughter, Norma Fink. Grandchildren, Jessyca Schnack, Leila McSmith, Dale McSmith, Charles "Colby" Fink, and Melvin Fink. Great Grandchildren, Adyson McSmith, Aubree Schnack, Rylee Schnack, Skylar Branning, and Connor Branning. Sisters, Fran Wright and husband Mel Wright, and Mary Hill. Aunt, Judie Dugan. Brother-in-law, Brad Robinson. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Josephine. Grandson, Justin McSmith. Son-in-law, Charles "Benji" Fink Jr. Brothers, Wayne Tohee, John Lindsey, and Bob Lindsey. Sisters, Nonie Hermes, Pauline Thompson, Deanna Robinson, and Martha Briner. Brother-in-laws, Gary Hill, and Pat Hermes.

Ella worked at Midwest Easy Stop at the corner of Liberty and Union for many years. Her favorite hobbies included crocheting afghans, watching birds eat outside her front window, and playing Solitaire and other various card games. The family would like to extend thanks to Phoenix Hospice of Wichita, KS for taking such great care of Ella in her final days with us. She is loved and will be missed by all.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 8, 2023 in the Ponca City I.O.O.F Cemetery with Pastor Tom Howard officiating. Services are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
