While flying under a 200 foot cloud ceiling the aircraft inadvertently went into instrument flight conditions - and crashed before the crew could regain visual conditions. Five men were killed in the crash of UH-1H tail number 68-16206: 1LT Don E. Stockton, Sherwood, OR, pilot; CWO Dee A. Hyden, Amarillo, TX, copilot; SP5 Larry D. Keeler, Ponca City, OK, gunner; SP5 Donald R. Rose, Wichita Falls, TX, crew chief; and SP4 William S. Barritt, Bridgeport, OH, passenger. May his sacrifice not be forgotten.
