Emmert "Dinty" Lawrence Hunt, was born on December 30, 1927, to Fred Lawrence and Laura Kathryn (Pruett) Hunt in Osage County, Oklahoma. He grew up on the family farm and attended McCord School. He passed away on January 1, 2020, at his home.

On July 23, 1945, he married Wanda Lee Williams in Ponca City. They enjoyed 74 years of marriage.

Dinty worked as a carpenter for a while, then helped build the Carbon Black Plant, South of Ponca City. When the plant was finished, he went to work for them. When he retired from Carbon Black, he started his own business, Hunt Backhoe and Trenching. He enjoyed calf roping and belonged to the Marland Round Up Club. The family went on the trail ride with the Pawhuska Cavalcade for many years each July

Dinty is survived by his wife, Wanda; son, Ronnie Hunt and his wife, Pauletta; daughter, Debi Hunt-Scott; great-grandson, Lane Wilkinson (whom they raised); son-in-law, Elmer Feathers; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and brother, Fred Hunt.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Feathers; grandson, Brandon Hunt; granddaughter, Melissa Scott Johnstone; his parents; three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at the Ranch Drive Baptist Church, with Pastor Bob Ryan and Reverend Chris Short officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Ponca City.

Pallbearers will be Shane Feathers, Billy Feathers, Cody Hunt, Stony Jones, Pete Diebold and Dennis Reaves.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Lane Wilkinson, Robert Feathers, Elmer Feathers, Colby Feathers, Dacoda Hunt, Chad Feathers, Todd Russell, Dudley Barnwell, and Ron Schooley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 445 Fairview Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
