Mildred Ruth (Hollingsworth) Hicks was born on December 6, 1934 in Arkansas City, KS to Tom and Flecie Hollingsworth. She left this world on May 28, 2020 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Mildred was 85 years old. She was in Hospice care for 7 months prior to death and passed peacefully surrounded by family.

She is survived by her spouse of 57 years, Tommy D Hicks, 3 daughters, Sharon Dee Gammill of Bixby, OK, Darla Sue Powell and husband David of Pawhuska, OK, Deanna Louise Lamer and husband Mike of Loyal, OK, and one son Denis Lee Schmitt and wife Jill of Broken Arrow, OK. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers Cecil, Lee, Frank and Forest and 2 infant daughters Linda Kay Schmitt and Dena Lynn Schmitt.

Mildred spent her childhood on several farms with her family and learned the value of hard work. She imparted that knowledge to her children and grandchildren and they are living successful lives because of her. Mildred also left a legacy of loving God. She was saved in her early 40's and was instrumental in leading her family to the Lord Jesus. She was active in serving the Lord at Osage Heights Baptist Church for many years.

Mildred had several hobbies she enjoyed - gardening, sewing, crafting and painting. She enjoyed cooking and passed on many recipes in cookbooks she presented to her family one Christmas.

Mildred had a long career working in accounting and insurance. After retirement, she and Tommy moved to Grove, OK where they had purchased Granny's Chuckwagon a small diner at Harbor Village. She and Tommy spent many happy hours preparing food for tourists.

Mildred will be missed by those who loved her. Her memory will always be carried in their hearts.

Friends and loved ones may pay their respects from 1-8pm Monday, June 1 at the funeral home. A ceremony to celebrate Mildred's life will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 in the Chapel at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory with Grace Hospice Chaplain Steven Griffith officiating. She will be laid to rest privately at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City.

Memorial donations in her memory may be provided to the American Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
