Fran Garrison

Fran Garrison, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at the Ponca City Medical Center. She was 80.

Fran was born on January 25, 1928 in Ponca City, the daughter of Guy Lane and Bessie (Edmiston) Lane. She attended Ponca City schools and after graduation, art school in Kansas City.

She married Jeff Garrison on June 18, 1966 in Winfield, Kansas. The couple loved to travel to faraway places and enjoyed collecting a variety of antiques. Above all else, they doted on their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fran also enjoyed the outdoors, needle point, playing bridge and her precious dogs, “Google” and “Cali”.

Fran is survived by daughters, Sheree Baker of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Aletha Garrison of Ponca City, and Jeannie Macaluso of LaCrescenta, California; granddaughter, Marissa Scott of Tulsa; grandsons Cory Scott of Bentonville, Arkansas and Jeff Baker of Sand Springs; sister and brother-in-law Wanda and Enloe Baumert of Ponca City; great-granddaughters Briana Scott and Kirsy Jo Baker of Sand Springs and great-grandsons Brian Scott of Sand Springs and Ethan Scott of Bentonville, Arkansas; and her companion and caregiver, Melissa Albers.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jeff and her parents, Guy and Bessie Lane.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2008 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Rev. Mike Smith, pastor of the First United Methodist Church presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

There will be a visitation for family and friends at Grace Memorial Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday evening, October 2, 2008.
