Marcia Lea Courtney, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Ponca City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 70 years of age.

Marcia was born February 15, 1941, the daughter of the late Senator Roy E. Grantham and Martha Elizabeth Young Grantham. She was a 1959 graduate of Ponca City High School. She attended the then Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma, earning degrees in both Biology and Computer Science. She was employed in earlier years as a Lab Technician. Her enjoyments included animals, cooking and watching various cooking shows, and in earlier years gardening and fishing.

She is survived by a nephew, Andrew McNew and her close friends in Ponca City. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Linda Roy McNew.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011at the I.O.O.F. Hope Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
