Noble Vernon Corbin, age 87, of Ponca City, Oklahoma passed away on January 31, 2018 at his home.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, February 5, 2018 at Albright United Methodist Church with Rev. April Coats officiating. Following the ceremony, he will be laid to rest at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City. Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at Trout Funeral Home on Saturday, February 3 2018 from 9 am to 8 pm and Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 1 pm to 8 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory in Ponca City.

Noble was born on July 9, 1930 in Marland, Oklahoma to Noble Hill Corbin and Thelma (Shultz) Corbin. He married Alta Louise (Ryan) Corbin on November 30, 1959 in Ponca City.

He attended Marland school and was drafted into the Army in 1952. He trained at the Ordinance Replacement Training Center, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland and the Atlanta General Depot. He served in Korea with the 512th Heavy Armed Maintenance Division, earning the Korean Service Medal, 3 Bronze Service Stars and the National Defense Service Cross. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1954 and returned to his employment with the City of Ponca City for 44 years, retiring as the Director of the Motor Pool.

Noble enjoyed traveling, going on walks, visiting with people, spending time with his family, and woodworking and woodcrafting. He was proud of his Ponca Indian heritage and loved spending time at the Ponca Tribal Senior Center.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Corbin of Ponca City, daughter, Patti King of Ponca City, brother, Bobby Corbin of Marland, sisters, Carol Vanhoy and husband Kenneth of Edmond and Darlene Duvall of Ponca City, brother-in-law, Charlie McClelland, Charles Ryan and wife Ann Ryan of Ponca City, sisters-in-law, Loy Corbin of Ponca City and Sharon Corbin of Glencoe, grandchildren, Lexie King of Ponca City and Molly King of Kildare as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Noble was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Carl, Walter, Bill, and Marvin Corbin, and sisters, Josephine Gibson and Lavona Thompson, sisters-in-law Janice McClelland and Mary Corbin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Northern Oklahoma, 445 Fairview Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601 or Albright United Methodist Church, 128 S. Palm St, Ponca City, OK 74601.
