Travell Dashon Carnes, resident of Ponca City, passed February 10, 2013 as a result of an automobile accident. He was 23 years of age. 

Travell was born September 14, 1989 in Ponca City, the son of Jessie Johnson and Elaine Carnes Johnson. He was a 2008 graduate of Ponca City High School. He was employed the past five years as a rig hand for the Chaparral Energy Company, working out of Shidler. His enjoyments included playing horseshoes, watching football and basketball, and spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his mother, Elaine Johnson, of Ponca City; one sister, Jessica Johnson of Ponca City and a close friend who was like a brother, Corey Benson, of Ponca City; very close friend, Sevanna Munoz; his maternal grandfather, Leroy Carnes of Ponca City; numerous other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Bernice Carnes. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Faith Tabernacle Church with Pastor Don Stanton presiding. Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. 

Casket bearers are David Bracken, Mark Coggins, Johnnie Carnes, Bram Winterhalter, Nick Dean and Corey Benson.
