September 27, 1923 - September 21, 2020

Mary Louise Campbell passed from this life into heaven on September 21st, 2020 at home with her daughter by her side. Mary was born on September 27th, 1923 in Enid Oklahoma to Russell and Molly Phillips. She had 4 brothers and 2 sisters, all of whom were very close. She lived the majority of her childhood in Kansas and graduated from Howard High School in 1938. From there she moved to Wichita for a short time before moving to Ponca City. She was a wonderful cook and worked at many of Ponca’s local diners as well as JC Penny’s.

Mary had 2 children, Myra Kay Haun Lingnau and Henry Wood Haun. Henry served in Vietnam, Germany and retired from the Army. She was very proud of Henry’s service to our country. She and Myra Kay were as close as a mother and daughter could be and enjoyed a lot of time together. Mary spent the last 3 years of her life living east of Newkirk with Myra Kay.

Mary married Bill Campbell August 27th, 1957 in Carthage, Missouri. Bill was widowed with 2 adult children, Nelda Campbell Sindorf and David Campbell. Bill and Mary made their home at 212 N. 7th in Ponca City. Mary loved cooking, baking and caring for their home and family. She spent a lot of time in her yard and garden and was a member of 2nd Baptist Church.

Mary was a loving and beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother who will be deeply missed. We will always cherish her memory and be grateful for the difference she made in our lives.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Bill Campbell, her son Henry Haun, her parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister, step-son David Campbell, and her son-in-law Bob Lingnau. She is survived by her daughter Myra Kay Lingnau of Newkirk, OK. Sister Colleen Phillips Dewey of Independence, KS. Step-daughter Nelda Campbell Huggins and husband Chuck of Edmond, OK. Grandchildren Rick Sindorf, Tonya Sindorf Folsom, Shelly Campbell Gitthens, Jimmy Campbell, Kristi Campbell Coles, Kristi Lingnau Randol and Candy Lingnau Chaney. Great-grandchildren Kari Jo, Riley, Lauren, Drew, Dillon, Serena, Bryant and Travis. Great-great children Teagan, Nova, Addliyn, Killian (Bub) and Oakland and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held in Odd Fellows Cemetery at 2:00 pm, Friday September 25, 2020, under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Pastor Ken Newport of 2nd Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kay County Humane Society.
