Carlos Eugene Burgess, resident of Ponca City, passed Sunday, April 5, 2009 at his home. He was 50 years of age.

Carlos was born August 5, 1958 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He was a 1976 graduate of Bartlesville College High School. He then completed training as an auto mechanic at Okmulgee Tech. Carlos was married to Rose Miller on April 15, 1998 in Miami, Oklahoma with the couple making their home in Ponca City. He had been employed as a production worker at Tyson and Mid-American Door Co. His enjoyments included fishing; the outdoors; in earlier years, playing baseball, and most recently spending time with his children and grandchildren, taking them to the park or lake. He loved all the children and they loved him.

Carlos is survived by his mother, Mary Mae Burgess, of Bartlesville; his wife, Rose Burgess, of the home; five children, Carlos Miller, Oklahoma City, Brian Miller, Holdenville, Oklahoma, Rashawna Miller, Mirakle Burgess and Omarion Burgess, all of Ponca City; two sisters, Carlene Burgess and Linda Burgess, both of Bartlesville; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and one great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ted and Maggie Burgess and his parents-in-law, Arthur and Lula Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1904 North Pecan with Rev. Tim Johnson, pastor of the Church of God in Christ, presiding. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
