July 12, 1935 - April 6, 2021

Lucy Ellen Brewer, 85, was called home by her heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021. She was much loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed.

Lucy was born to Dewey and Bessie (Downs) Moody on July 12th, 1935 in Washunga, OK. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1954. In September of 1954, she married Ralph R. Brewer and they married for 66 years. They made their home in Ponca City, OK where they raised two sons, Willie A (Rick) Brewer and Denny Lee Brewer.

Lucy was a homemaker and very involved in her sons’ activities. As a woman with a strong Christian faith, Lucy was very involved with teaching Sunday School classes, Vacation Bible School and took on various jobs within the church. Lucy was most recently a member of First Baptist Church of Ponca City. Later in life, Lucy took on a new career of florist. She worked for Sonja’s Flowers for 15 years.

In addition to her to husband and sons, her grandchildren, Jordan Lee, Jared Levi, and Jennae Elise Brewer were her greatest joy. She introduced each of them to coke floats and they loved helping her make apple pie.

Lucy enjoyed arranging flowers, hosting dinners in her home, and cooking as well as spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed reading books to her grandchildren when they work young. She was an avid shopper and truly enjoyed a good ice cream cone. She tremendously enjoyed traveling, visiting new places, and always wanted to go to more places.

Lucy is preceded in death by parents, Dewey and Bessie Moody, her brother Cecil Moody, and her sister Frances Whitaker.

She is survived by her husband Ralph R Brewer, her children Willie A (Rick) Brewer, Denny Brewer and wife Diana; grandchildren Jordan Brewer, Jared Brewer, and Jennae Brewer; siblings Grace Cook, Wynona Jenkins, Margret Hubler, Iola Lanius, Edward Mood and wife Alice, Dorothy Shaw and husband Carrol.
