Esther Grace Bolding

Esther Grace Bolding, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2008 at her home. She was 87.

Esther was born May 28, 1921 in Ponca City, the daughter of John Henry Buser and Doris Anna (Heinze) Buser. She was a 1939 graduate of Ponca City High School. She was married to Lloyd K. Smith on August 29, 1941. Mr. Smith preceded her in death on April 7, 1978. She was married to W.H. Bolding on July 25, 1981 with Mr. Bolding preceding her in death on August 9, 2003. Esther was employed as a secretary with Conoco where she retired in 1981 after 27 years of employment. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Mother’s Club. Her enjoyments included sewing, traveling, shopping, working with flowers and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Alan L. Smith and wife, Sheron, of Dexter, Kansas; one brother, Lawrence Buser and wife, Vivian, Santa Clarita, California; two granddaughters, Teresa Bogner and husband, Dan, Galesburg, Kansas and Kristi Snipes and husband, Justin, Dewey, Oklahoma; two great grandchildren, Wyatt Snipes and Mark Bogner; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one brother, Curtis Buser; two sisters, Helen Bookout and Clara Haynes.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2008 in the Chapel of the First Baptist Church with the Minister of Education, the Rev. Jack Shamburger, presiding. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Grace Memorial Chapel.

Casket bearers will be Justin Snipes, Dan Bogner, Steve Bookout, Gary Thompson, Lester Shultz and Donnie Pierce.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 1904 North Union, Suite 103, Ponca City, Oklahoma 74601.
