Linda Gorre Beard

Linda Gorre Beard former longtime resident of Ponca City passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 in Oklahoma City with her family by her side. She was 71 years of age. Linda was born on August 11, 1946 in Enid, OK to George and Evelyn Sartain Davis. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City. Visitation will be Friday, November 3, 2017 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial will be at a later date.

Linda grew up in Marshall, OK and graduated from High School in Marshall in 1964. Linda came to Ponca City in 1967 and she went to work for the Ponca Floral Greenhouse. She worked for several flower shops in Ponca City until she opened her own shop Creative Flowers in 1981. Linda also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing solitary. She moved to OKC in 2008 to be closer to her son and she continued to work until she went to the hospital.

Survivors include: her son; Jim Gorre and his wife Teresa of OKC, OK 3 grandchildren; Kurtis Gorre, Devon Gorre and Catelynne Gorre. 2 great grandchildren: Dean Gorre and Tommy Gorre. She is also survived by her sister: Glenda Sue Shaffer and husband Roy of Ponca City, OK and several nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Richard Beard and 1 son: Kelly Gorre in 1991.

Linda Beard went to the kingdom of heaven on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was born on August 11, 1946. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 in Ponca City. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.
